9th NASA Space App Challenge Hackathon will be held on October 6-7 at IUB

Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), BASIS Students' Forum is going to conduct hackathon of the Bangladesh phase of NASA Space App Challenge on October 6-7 for the 9th time in a row. More than two thousand contestants from 9 divisional cities are participating in the hackathon held at the Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) campus located in Bashundhara residential area. Out of the total 210 projects, the top 50 of the 100 projects selected in the hybrid model and the remaining 50 projects are being held online in this two-day hackathon.

United States National Aeronautics and Space Administration-NASA will bring together talented young people from different fields such as technicians, scientists, designers, artists, educators, entrepreneurs from 185 countries around the world to find innovative solutions to solve various global problems of the world.  

As informed by the organizers, Secretary of Information and Communication Technology Division Md. Shamsul Arefin will be present as the chief guest in the opening ceremony along with the NASA Space Apps Challenge 2023 Convener and BASIS Director Tanveer Hossain Khan. After organizing the hackathon for 36 hours, the closing ceremony will be held on October 7 (Saturday) 2023 in the evening. Minister of Education Dr. Dipu Moni will be present as the chief guest while the Vice-Chancellor of Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) Tanveer Hasan will be present as the special guest and James Gardiner, Economics, Science and Technology Officer of the US Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh will be present as the guest of honour.
